Food Technology Future of the Restaurant Industry

Food Technology Future of the Restaurant Industry Food Technology: Future of the Restaurant Industry Today’s customers expect the best experience from their favorite restaurants and if they don’t get it, they are quick to turn to others. No, this does not mean you should pack up shop and open a food truck instead. You just have to work smarter. Restaurants that are successful today invest in the future by incorporating technology in their operations. The digital solutions they use take consumer participation to a whole new level. With the right solutions, you can actually make your workers ambassadors for your establishment and give your customers control over their own experiences. In fact, whether you are in distribution, serving or manufacturing in the food industry, you need to ensure your products are safe for consumption. The key to maintaining a universal food safety culture lies in taking quick action against unsafe conditions and remaining accountable for operations. Food Safety Monitoring Made Easy However, with brands under constant pressure to out-compete competitors, this is easier said than done. This is where Machine to Machine Learning (M2M) and the Internet of Things (IoT) come into the picture. These solutions are changing the way food based enterprises do business and for the better. Simply, put M2M and IoT allow food brands trace products from Point of Purchase (PoP) to their place of business using interconnected devices. This allows business owners to monitor the location of each item as well as their temperatures. These devices are going a long way to ensure food remains safe to consume, streamline inventory management and give owners real time data especially if they are overseeing different locations. The reason why such technology has risen in popularity so quickly is simple to understand if you are involved in the industry. Nothing can make you sweat bullets more than a foodborne illness that can be traced back to your operations. If this happens, you need to know which products were involved and where the contamination took place. IoT and M2M devices make that task easy by allowing users to track their products from the time they are ordered till they are delivered. The exciting part is that you can also track your food en route from the back of a tractor trailer that is bringing it down a highway! With these devices, you have access to the entire data trail your products generate during their journey so you can see how each one is handled. It also allows you to ensure safety standards are met. In other words, this technology streamlines traceability by managing and gathering this data thus reassuring business owners that their food is being handled properly. With data to back up this claim, proving compliance is a piece of cake. A good example of this is smart transportation solutions that are backed by IoT and M2M technologies. A connected fleet allows owners to track vehicles and driver location in real time. By paying a bit more, you can also get automated alerts that can track temperature changes which are essential in ensuring food remains fresh en route. Similarly, you can also ensure that your workers comply with food sanitation standards with connected soap dispensers. These send data to a system which tracks the frequency with which they wash their hands before going about their work. This data is important for business ever since the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) was launched back in 2011. The aim of this program is protect public health by reinforcing food safety standards in the US. In other words, all food based establishments have to incorporate preventative control systems according to the guidelines in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). They also have to prove compliance by maintaining records of safety practices that conform to these standards for 2 years. Basically, whether you are a restaurant owner or are involved in the supply chain, integrating smart technology into your business can help you meet food safety standards easily. While the initial cost may be a bit high, you can earn all of that money back as sales increase with a satisfied clientele.

4 Donts in Your Resignation Letter - Wolfgang Career Executive Coaching

4 Donts in Your Resignation Letter - Wolfgang Career Executive Coaching Heres a piece by a client of mine who learned some lessons just as he was submitting his two-week notice resignation letter!  Remember, with a new job you are moving toward something, not running away from something. That is the mindset to write your resignation letter. -Coach Wolfgang Recently, I turned in my two weeks notice at work via a resignation letter. It felt like an eternity to get my new offer letter but it finally came in. For weeks, I envisioned peoples reactions and dreamed of how my two week notice letter would shock them! I daydreamed about all the things I would be free to say and how I would show my managers their mistakes. Well, the day came around and all those thoughts of scorning my company and managers left a bad feeling in my gut. Fortunately! I could have made some real mistakes and I feel compelled to warn others who were thinking of doing so. Dont be rude in your resignation letter Dont bash your boss either as a person, manager, strategist or friend. Dont tell them how their plans were all wrong and dont tell them how all your mistakes are their fault. Dont be a jerk! Dont, dont, dont tell them that you are resigning because of some personal beef you have with them or a co-worker. If you are not coming up with reasons to be courteous in your resignation letter then consider what you have to gain by being rude. Usually, not much. I do feel it is okay to give feedback that will help your boss and, potentially, your co-workers. For example, I said that I had stuck with the company through a lot of transition and went above and beyond many times but felt that the ~1% raise and diminishing annual bonus made me feel that my contributions were not seen as important. Give your boss something to fix and work on in your two week notice letter. This productive information can also be shared in an exit interview. Dont blow off your job duties Dont decline all of your meetings, or even most  of them. Continue to attend the ones where your input will be meaningful or at the very least, helpful. Dont stop replying to emails or not being helpful in your replies. Continue performing your recurring duties until you have a replacement and then you can spend time training your replacement. Remember, the two-week notice is meant for you to transition out of your orle, not stop working. Dont, dont, dont start making yourself unavailable to those who need your assistance. Since you are still on the payroll, theres an expectation that you will maintain your performance. Do your best to do so and  your co-workers will remember you positively. You just dont know who will be a part of you getting the next job it may just be a referral or endorsement you arent aware of! Im not saying you need to put in a bunch of overtime but ease down slowly and make others realize that you were (and are) a solid hire. Dont sabotage your projects Dont withhold important information on your projects. Dont make it difficult for your replacement to step in. Dont forget to inform your vendors and other co-workers involved in your projects. Dont, dont, dont leave your boss in a lurch after you leave. Imagine 10 years from now. You are on the job hunt again and your are interviewing for an awesome position. Now imagine that your current boss is best friends with the hiring manager! Do you think youll get the job based on their recommendation? If not, now is a good time to correct that. Take the next two weeks to surprise your superiors and leave a lasting impression. For example, its smart to create  an overview document along with the status and next steps for all of your projects to hand-off to your manager or replacement.  Dont be shady Leave all the equipment and supplies at the company. Now is not the time to stock up on post-it notes and staplers. If you are remote, dont hang on to your laptop as a sign of discontent. Take your training materials, the badges from your conferences and business cards youve collected but dont take a bunch of strategy docs out of the office. Dont, dont, dont run up a bunch of personal charges on your company credit card! You probably spent a lot of time at your job trying to impress co-workers, your boss, your executives, etc. If you want to make them realize that they lost a good employee, then uphold and solidify their impression. Be proactive and take their requests seriously. You are resigning from the job but your behavior will stay with your former co-workers long after youve left! If you are leaving a job that was frustrating and potentially frustrating for a long time, its tempting to burn bridges, say hurtful things in your resignation letter and check out over the next two weeks. I know Ive been there! But stop and think about what benefit youll get, rather, what benefit your career will get. If you dont see a benefit then its best to pass. Have you burned bridges on your last day at work? Tell us the good and the bad below!

Coloring Complex 3D Printed Objects

Shading Complex 3D Printed Objects Shading Complex 3D Printed Objects Another strategy for shading complex 3D printed objects created by scientists at Columbia University and a Chinese college could make conceivable progressively reasonable models just as more final results made by added substance fabricating. As of not long ago, it has been hard to deliver confused shading designs and an assortment of hues for 3D fabricated things with ease in view of confinements of hydrographic printing, or water move printing. The procedure is generally utilized in industry fabricating forms for rapidly shading and applying repeatable shading examples to surfaces of items, for example, iPhone cases. As a plan engineer, the test identified with 3D printing is you are frequently making models and models one item and you need the capacity to tweak shading, says Changxi Zheng, colleague teacher of software engineering at Columbia and lead scientist on the undertaking. Albeit hydrographic printing can deliver excellent shading and can be utilized on a wide scope of materials, it can't absolutely adjust designs on complex surfaces and shading decisions are restricted. Zheng clarifies, If you have a secret stash and need to shading some dark spots, for eyes and nose, its difficult to do. The dabs for the eyes and nose could wind up in a totally unexpected spot in comparison to wanted. There are ordinarily when a client might want to shading the outside of an article with specific shading designs, to embellish a 3D-printed mug with explicit, customized pictures or just to shading a toy, he says. It just doesnt work in light of the fact that hydrographic printing includes utilizing a film highlighting the ideal plan that is relaxed with synthetic concoctions in water. The film is then folded over the item and sticks to its surface. Be that as it may, since it gets extended in the submersion procedure, arrangement on the item isn't exact. You have no power over the film, and it gets mutilated, Zheng says. A feline puppet being hydrographically hued utilizing the multi-drenching computational strategy. Picture: Changxi Zheng Furthermore, hues are constrained aside from with top of the line printers, and even that is over the top expensive. With Zhengs new technique, any hues are conceivable as are perplexing examples, sufficiently reasonable to be finished with 3D printers numerous people are presently buying for themselves. This framework is anything but difficult to set up for individual use and its very reasonable, under 40 pennies for each printing, Zheng said. Since declaring the work, Zheng says he has gotten notification from organizations keen on shading everything from a bike head protector to vehicle accomplices to Halloween covers. The framework incorporates building a physical hydrographic framework with off-the-rack equipment, coordinating virtual recreation, adjusting the item alignment, and controlled inundation. He and his group built up another computational technique that recreates the extending that happens during drenching and predicts the twisting. When the twisting and the ideal example have been reenacted, a hued film move is produced that mulls over the bending and adjusts precisely with the surface surfaces of the article. Their work has likewise included building up a 3D vision framework that gauges the items direction and plunging area. For complex items and structures, various inundations utilizing various directions of the article are conceivable and might be required. The whole framework is based upon off-the-rack equipment and can be effectively set up by conventional clients, the analysts wrote in their paper. The item is held by a mechanical gripper associated toward one side of a vertical aluminum pole, driven by a straight DC engine. Underneath the pole is a holder of water. The area and direction of the item is estimated. The groups computational model predicts the stretch and mutilation of the shading film and makes a guide between the areas on the film and the surface areas to which they are to be moved. With that map, a shading picture can be imprinted on the film that considers the film mutilation. Zheng became intrigued when he saw an exhibition of hydrographic printing demonstrating exceptionally muddled examples on YouTube. He before long discovered that in China, units for hydrographic printing are ready to move to DIYers, and figured, How would we be able to improve this?, he says. That prompted a joint effort with scientists at Zhejiang University, one of Chinas most established and most lofty foundations, in Hangzhou. Zheng is exceptionally keen on the communication between the virtual world and this present reality. This exploration is a genuine case of how virtual-world calculation can function connected at the hip with a certifiable assembling process and fundamentally improve the creation quality, he says. Nancy Giges is a free essayist. Study 3D printing difficulties and patterns at AM3D Conference Expo. For Further Discussion This framework is anything but difficult to set up for individual use and it's very reasonable, under 40 pennies for every printing.Prof. Changxi Zheng, Columbia University

This is the best and expert approach to cause a spotter to feel it sensible to answer to your email and keep up a positive relationship with them. For occurrence, you could compose something like:Hello John,I presented my application for an independent composing position somewhere in the range of not many days back and might want to know how the employing procedure is going. I am charmed to get familiar with this position and would be thankful to get any updates from you concerning it.Regards,Marvin.As you can see the model above, it is short and to the point.Bonus: Don't be a multi-taskerThe way you contact your selection representative can choose whether your bid will stick out or not. Suppose an enrollment specialist decides to send you an inbox message by means of your LinkedIn account, the spotter needs to get quick and to the point answers. You will destroy your bid by making a selection representative hang tight for a very long ti me for your reaction since you are drawing in yourself on different things. The best thing is to gather yourself, leave all that you are as of now doing, total your discussion and afterward return to what you were doing. This will make you focus on the conversation.ConclusionThere you have it; 6 Don'ts while reaching your selection representative on the web.
